We have welcomed many, many groups to Middle Barn Farm over the past ten
years. We offer an ideal base for groups. Whether you're on a Field Study
Trip, School Trip or College Trip, all groups are welcome to our advice
regarding their itinerary. Please see our selection of downloadable documents here. This ex-working farm, parts of which date back to the Civil War, is set in 12 acres of the Arreton Valley. Our land includes a sizeable pond, a stream which is a tributary of the East Yar River and a large area of wetland. We maintain a large, mown area of grass, adjacent to the Dining Room and easy for Staff to supervise, as a 'free-time' area for Students. |

Accommodation All of our rooms have en-suite facilities and we can accommodate groups of around 30 and up to 4 members of staff. We have tried to retain some of the character and original features in the converted milking parlour. The rooms have mains-powered, interconnected smoke detectors, and a Room Plan is available to ease the allocation of Students to rooms. The old Hay Barn, now the Dining Room, still retains its old beams and character - it is an ideal social area for Student Groups and can also be used for desk-work in the evenings. A covered walkway connects all rooms and provides a useful area for wellies and wet trainers. Blankets & pillows are provided, but students provide their own pillow case, sleeping bag & towels. Bedding (but not towels) is provided for Staff. Meals Breakfast includes a choice of cereal, a cooked breakfast and toast. We provide packed lunches, a 2-course Evening Meal and Hot Chocolate at ‘lights out’. Facilities We provide accommodation which we hope you'll find appealing and comfortable, within a relaxed and 'rustic' atmosphere. We are an ideal base for Student Trips at any time of year. Site Visits are welcome by arrangement. |
